Bihar School Examination Board BSEB has extended the last date for Bihar STET Online Form 2026 to 15 September 2026. The Secondary Teacher Eligibility Test is conducted to determine eligibility of candidates for teaching classes 9 to 12 in Bihar government schools. Online applications started on 17 August 2026. Candidates can apply for Paper 1 Secondary level classes 9-10 or Paper 2 Higher Secondary level classes 11-12 or both. Educational qualification requires graduation or post graduation with BEd as per NCTE norms with minimum marks. Age limit is minimum 18 or 21 years and maximum up to 37 years for general male and higher for female and reserved categories as on 1 August 2026. Application fee is Rs 960 for general for one paper and Rs 1440 for both papers with lower fee for SC ST PH. The exam will be computer based test with 150 questions. There is no negative marking. Selection is based on qualifying the STET examination. Eligible candidates should apply through the official portal stetregistration.cbrt.co.in before the extended deadline.

Vacancy Details
Bihar STET is an eligibility test and not a recruitment examination. Qualifying STET makes candidates eligible to apply for secondary and higher secondary teacher posts in Bihar when vacancies are notified by the concerned authorities such as BPSC TRE. There is no fixed number of posts under STET itself.

Selection Process
The Bihar STET examination is conducted in Computer Based Test mode. Paper 1 is for secondary level and Paper 2 is for higher secondary level.
Each paper consists of 150 multiple choice questions for 150 marks. Duration is 2 hours 30 minutes. There is no negative marking. Candidates need to score the minimum qualifying marks to be declared STET qualified.
The STET certificate is valid for lifetime or as per the rules notified by the board. Qualifying candidates can apply for teacher recruitment examinations in Bihar.
