Selection Process
The Combined Medical Services Examination 2026 is conducted in two stages.
The first stage is the written examination of 500 marks consisting of two papers. Paper I covers General Medicine and Paediatrics for 250 marks. Paper II covers Surgery, Gynaecology and Obstetrics and Preventive and Social Medicine for 250 marks. Each paper is of two hours duration with objective type questions.
The second stage is the Personality Test or Interview carrying 100 marks. Candidates who have qualified the written examination will be called for this stage.
The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the written examination and the Personality Test. Document verification will be conducted at the time of the interview.
