Integral Coach Factory ICF Chennai under the Ministry of Railways has invited online applications for Act Apprentice engagement under Notification No APP/01/2026-2027. A total of 1010 apprentice slots are available including 330 for Freshers and 680 for Ex-ITI candidates in various trades. Online applications started on 8 August 2026 and the last date to apply is 7 September 2026 up to 5:30 PM. Candidates must have passed Class 10 with at least 50 percent marks. Ex-ITI candidates need National Trade Certificate in the relevant trade. Age limit is 15 to 22 years for Freshers and 15 to 24 years for Ex-ITI candidates as on 7 September 2026. Selection is based on merit prepared from Class 10 marks and ITI marks wherever applicable. There is no written examination. Selected candidates will receive monthly stipend ranging from Rs 8200 to Rs 9600 during the training period. Preference is given to candidates from Tamil Nadu. Eligibility Criteria

| Fresher | Passed Class 10 or equivalent with minimum 50 percent marks from a recognised board. For MLT trades Class 12 with Physics Chemistry and Biology is required. |
| Ex-ITI | Passed Class 10 with minimum 50 percent marks and National Trade Certificate NTC or ITI in the relevant trade from NCVT or SCVT. |
Candidates must possess the required qualification as on the last date of application. Preference is given to candidates who have registered with the Employment Exchange in Tamil Nadu.
Selection Process
Selection for ICF Act Apprentice is purely on the basis of merit. The merit list is prepared based on the marks obtained in Class 10 examination. For Ex-ITI candidates the marks of ITI are also considered as per the notified criteria.
There is no written examination or interview. Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification and medical examination. Final engagement is subject to verification of original documents and medical fitness.
Training duration is generally one year for Ex-ITI and two years for Freshers depending on the trade.
