Selection Process
The selection process for UPSC CAPF Assistant Commandant consists of multiple stages.
The first stage is the written examination conducted by UPSC. It comprises two papers. Paper I is General Ability and Intelligence of 250 marks. Paper II is General Studies, Essay and Comprehension of 200 marks.
Candidates who qualify the written examination are shortlisted for the Physical Standards Test and Physical Efficiency Test. These tests are conducted by Sashastra Seema Bal as the nodal agency nominated by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Candidates who clear the physical tests are called for the Personality Test or Interview conducted by UPSC. The interview carries 150 marks.
The final merit list is prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the written examination and the Personality Test. Document verification and medical examination are also part of the process before final appointment.
