Selection Process
The UPTET is an eligibility examination and not a recruitment process for direct appointment.
Candidates appear for either Paper 1 or Paper 2 or both as per their eligibility.
Paper 1 is for those aspiring to teach Classes 1 to 5. Paper 2 is for Classes 6 to 8.
Each paper consists of 150 multiple choice questions of 150 marks. The duration is 2 hours 30 minutes. There is no negative marking.
Candidates must secure the minimum qualifying marks as prescribed by the commission to be declared successful.
Upon qualification, the eligibility certificate is issued. This certificate is required while applying for teacher posts in government and aided schools of Uttar Pradesh.
